Why would you do this?

I was minding my own business when a friend of mine IM'd me with a quick hello and a suggestion that I take a look at a link that she was about to send me. After a brief hello back to her I decided to launch the link and see if I would laugh out loud as she suggested that I would.

Here is the link so you can follow along at home ... take a look and then let's continue ...

The Video

So, first ... yes, it is funny ...

But then you have to ask yourself ... what the hell was this guy thinking when he sent this video to someone? Didn't he realize that whoever he sent it to couldn't help but to share it with the rest of the world?

That is the power of the Internet ... some guy with a computer and a high-speed connection, and now you are spreading embarrasing videos of your friends across the globe.

Fortunately for us, we get to laugh at this kind of video and most of us are smart enough not to record ourselves when we are lipsinking to random songs. To everyone else ... thanks for helping us laugh ...

FatDave's BileDuct.com

Blogging in general is not new, but it certainly is for me. I never thought I would be one to create an online journal of things that are interesting, at least to me.

What started me down this path was a funny blog that my friend FatDave contributes to ... www.BileDuct.com ...

This guy is hilarious and could probably recite from start to finish some of the best movies ever made.

But, don't take my word for it ... go there and decide for yourself!

Hold'm if you got'm

So, I am up late ... I head down to the office in the basement where I've got my compter(s) and a TV. My refuge from the rest of the world ... just me and mass media and entertainment. Comcast and the Internet at my fingertips.

You can almost guarantee that after 11 pm there is going to be poker on either Bravo or ESPN Classic. I have to tell you, this celebrity poker for charity thing is a great idea. Usually, there are pretty attractive ladies on the show ... this week it is Lacey Chabert from Party of Five and Mean Girls. She didn't win, but she sure made it interesting for the rest of us.

ESPN Classic gives you a different view into the poker scene. A bunch of scruffy, slick and/or nerdy looking guys playing for millions of bucks. Now that is not to say that there aren't the occasional ladies at the table, Annie Duke for instance, or in the audience, but for the most part it is the lead up to the final heads up hand that keeps you into it.

In order to feed my need for Texas Hold'm, outside of the two games I have on my cellphone and these wonderful television shows, I have found another way to feed what is easily becoming an addition ... online poker and televised poker, at the same time.

I have found that I'm not too shabby, or I am playing against a bunch of 13 year olds ... although, they could be pretty good I guess. Maybe it was all that time on the throne playing the games on my cellphone. All I know now is, I can see why it is such a hit these days ... maybe I'll get good enough and be in the 2005 World Series of Poker.

The First Post

Ok, here's the first post ... just a test really ...
